Matt Shaw is, without a doubt, one of my favorite indie horror authors. His series The Peter Chronicles is not to be missed by any horror fan. I was thrilled to find that he had written a book to help other indie authors in their journey. Self-Publishing is a quick read (only about 53 pages) that is jam-packed with helpful advice regarding the logistics of self-publication. Some of the topics he covers:

  • Suggestions for your book cover and finding a designer
  • Utilizing social media to promote your book – in particular, tips on encouraging interactivity with your audience
  • Formatting your Kindle book and any images that you use – likely to save you from a lot of headache later on
  • Kindle publishing tools on Amazon that can help you further promote your book

This is just a sampling of the tips Matt Shaw provides in this book. Self-Publishing is a must read, with down-to-Earth advice for self-publication that is sure to help any indie author in the process of publishing on Kindle. Best of all, it’s available on the Kindle store for only 99 cents, and is available for rental if you have Kindle Unlimited. I have no doubt that I’ll be using some of these tips as I prepare to publish my current work in progress.
