Matt Shaw is, without a doubt, one of my favorite indie horror authors. His series The Peter Chronicles is not to be missed by any horror fan. I was thrilled to find that he had written a book to help other indie authors in their journey. Self-Publishing is a quick read (only about 53 pages) that is jam-packed with helpful advice regarding the logistics of self-publication. Some of the topics he covers:
- Suggestions for your book cover and finding a designer
- Utilizing social media to promote your book – in particular, tips on encouraging interactivity with your audience
- Formatting your Kindle book and any images that you use – likely to save you from a lot of headache later on
- Kindle publishing tools on Amazon that can help you further promote your book
This is just a sampling of the tips Matt Shaw provides in this book. Self-Publishing is a must read, with down-to-Earth advice for self-publication that is sure to help any indie author in the process of publishing on Kindle. I have no doubt that I’ll be using some of these tips as I prepare to publish my current work in progress.
